Photographer's Note

I took this shot in Lamayuru.
Lamayuru is the oldest Gompa of Ladakh and I descovered that the first palace was built before X century.
In the past it was refuge for criminals and for this reason the ancient name of this monastery was "Tharpa Ling" (place of freedom).
After 6 hours by car from Leh and the amazing Moon Valley (it really looks like the moon!!) I arrived in this wonderful place for the lunch time and the young monks were ready for it!
Looking their faces, Lamayuru continue to be the “Place of Freedom”…
