Photographer's Note
I am just back from Kashmir and life is going on normally despite some anxiety I had. The valley is peaceful and I stayed for almost 10 days. This picture is of a Kashmiri woman going about her daily work. I found Kashmiri more forthcoming, more progressive than I had expected.

Hi Poulomi,
Good use of the shallow DOF to bring out the portait of this Kashmiri woman. The light however seems too strong (she seems to be shielding her face from it) which may have caused some OE.
Best Wishes

Hello Poulomi
Very nice portrait & good use of shallow DOF to bring out the subject. As already stated by Sabyasachi, the light appears to be a bit too strong..tai jonne ami ekta WS kore dilam...Done some saturation & warmification in Picassa. Hope you don't mind. Do let me know if you like it

Hello Poulomi,
Nice post. Really good framing and shallow depth making the face stand out. I like the way you have kept the face along with the busket on her head. I think that the over exposure that is due to strong light is not doing any harm to this compo. It is perfect for me. It is the nice expression and the hand on the face to cover it up from sunlight that has given you a nice composition. good work.
Best regards,
Sayan

excellent capture of the daily life of the kashmiri woman. what was she carrying on her head? use of light is top class. also good sharp focus on the subject using shallow dof. tfs.

Nice with this hand as a protection against the sun; interesting contrast between the watch and the traditionnal way of carrying.

A very nice & beautiful capture of a daily life moment.

nicely composed but a bit too bright for me.
the blurry background from the shallow DOF works well here.
Thanks Paloumi for sharing one of dality life scenes in kashmir.
