Photographer's Note
Today, instead of a story, I would like to offer you a quick quiz with just one question - what is wrong with the sun in this image and what photographic technique did I use? No Photoshop adjustments involved!
I dedicate it to Will Perrett because of a conversation we once had about the Moon.
You will be relieved to know this is my last post of Taj Mahal! :-) But I'll upload just one more photo in WS.

Hello Kasia,
Possibly the WS is more beautiful, but the main photo is more amusing and more carefully timed and extremely eye-catching. Regarding the quiz I am just as ignorant as with some of the Friday quizzes.
Thank you for your kind critiques today.
Have a nice week,
Gert

I like the ideea, Kasia, have no idea about what's wrong on this picture.
Never been to India, so do not know which direction taken this photo, nor time of any day enable such an angle upon the sun - you will have to decifer the quiz soon...

Ike

Hello Kasia, an eye catching shot, but I have no idea as to how you achieved it. The unmistakable silhouette of the Taj Mahal.
I can still see lots of people in front of the building even if the sun is going down.
The workshop picture is equally interesting.
Kind regards, Jean.

Hello Kasia,
I was going to suggest desaturation but ... no PS involved!
Did you use a filter?
Not really sure but the result was an eye-catching photograph, with the Taj Mahal acting like a juggler and balancing the sun on the top of its dome!
Your w/s is also amazing! With so many birds in flight at once, it reminds me of 'The Birds' by Alfred Hitchcock!
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Hello Kasia,
A spectacular photo of the sun right over the tip on top of the Taj Mahal dome. The monument emerge so nicely from the haze here. Very well done.

Hi Kasia,
After looking at the views of Taj Mahal I think this is the main facade towards north. So the sun really wasn't in that direction. So my guess is double exposure, as you said there was no photoshopping. Quite imaginative, I've never tried such myself.

Hello Kasia,
I must be honest and confess that I have already read the other answers. Kari is right that you are looking north and normally the sun never comes there.
Have they invented a trick in Agra to make the sun appear there? The cunning men in Agra are capable of much. :)
I have no idea how to merge two separate images into one photo.
Whatever you did, the result is amazing.
I also like the photo with the birds very much.
Best regards, Paul

Hazy classic, well timed and well positioned.
A wonderful sight, well captured.
As far as the quiz goes, I draw a blank.
Is Kari right?

Hi Kasia
Looks like I'm not the first to work it out. You're looking north. Sun rises in the east(ish), sets in the west(ish). So if this isn't a P'shop manipulation, you must have managed a double exposure... I don't know how you do that with a digital camera. With film you could over-ride the wind-on to capture 2 images on one piece of film. But to get the sun so exactly spot on ain't easy... I've got it: you threw an orange in the air!
Kind regards
Will
On second thoughts, you're actually looking south from across the Yamuna River. I still stick by the orange theory, though!

Czesc Kasiu
pozdrawiam

Hi Kasia,
Excellent effect, well seen and captured, light rendering is superb like the monument silhouette, well timed and done ; you understand why I like so much this kind of view if you see my last post on TE ... tfs.

Hello Kasia,
Although I have been to north east India, I have never seen the Taj in the north west, so it is always welcome to see another post on TE. A moody and atmospheric shot of the sun seemingly resting on the spire. Tfs!

Pozdrawiam serdecznie

Hi Kasia
Like the mood in this picture of what looks like a misty cold & bleak scene with strong focal point to rest the eye. Quite a pleasure to get out to observe a sight like this. Fine shot and tfs

Czesc Kasiu,
Niesamowita kompozycja.

Witaj Kasiu,
Udane zdjecie w idealnej jakosci.
Pozdrawiam,
Zbigniew

Hi Kasia.
Superb composition, with this view of the Taj Mahal plunged into mist, a masterful capture of the perfectly full moon, making it coincide precisely with the top of the great dome.
Very well done. I like very much.
I wish you a Happy New Year's Eve and all the best for the New Year 2022.

Hello Kasia,
As I see you uploaded some pretty good photos, while I was away from the site. This one is the best among them. I had to fave it. The sounds in my head told me to do so. Joking apart, I will visit the other photos soon.
Best Wishes,
Gy.

Hello Kasia
I think this is a good photo. You had to sacrifice the subject of architecture to have the sun. Clarity and exposure are well done. Thanks for sharing.
