Photographer's Note

Our trusted elephant which we take to places where not too many car from the Indian plains get to go to. We had to raise the ground clearance of our car by adding shock spacers for the Spiti trip.

This shot was taken right next to a huge Buddha statue in the Lanza village near Kaza (in Spiti). The climb to Langza is quite steep and the road is also a little narrow. Our car managed it like a breeze, and i just wanted to capture this one which elaborates on how dirty the car looks while doing such a trip, focuses on the raised ground clearance and the obviously the background. The road beyond the peaks leads up somewhere to Tso Moriri with no villages in between (at least none that i know of).

The rays of the sun is quite strong even early morning at such high altitudes at this was taken at about 11 am. So i had to use a high shutter speed to capture this. Adjust it with autolevels in photo-shop. Still learning how to use a DSLR efficiently. :)

The place, Lanza is quite close to Kaza, and is on the road to Kaumik, and is about at 4200m ASL.
