Photographer's Note

The last chorten marking the end of civilization in the Pin Valley. The village Mudh, where this chorten exists, was meant to be the last village where the road should've ended. And we just wanted to experience the "end of the road" experience at least at one place in Himachal, having being devoid of the feeling at Kaumik.

However, it was not meant to be, the road leading up to Mudh, moves further for another 5 odd km, after which it converts into a pure trek route. This is where one of the most magical and secluded trek begins in India, crossing over hte Pin-Parbati passes, venturing through the land of ibexes and snow leopards. The great himalayan national park.

The Pin river that runs right near the village can be seen in this photograph originates from the high altitude pass. The valley and route beyond is marvelous. The village itself is quite small and quaint, perfect to get away from the maddening crowd.

This photograph was taken a little time before the last rays of sun was about to set over the towering hills near the village.
