Tempio Sikh Nuova Deli
Il Sikhismo è la terza religione per numero di fedeli dell'India.
Il Sikhismo nasce nel Punjab all'inizio del XVI secolo dal Guru Nanak (1469-1538) nel tentativo di conciliare Islam e Induismo. Dall'Islam coglie l'aspetto rigorosamente monoteistico: Dio eterno ed onnipotente è l'unico creatore dell'universo.
Dall'Induismo riprende il concetto di Karma e di reincarnazione, ma respinge il sistema delle caste.
Il termine "Sikh" significa "discepolo".
Un Sikh è qualcuno che crede in un Dio unico e negli insegnamenti dei Dieci Guru, raccolti nel Guru Granth Sahib, la Sacra Scrittura Sikh. In più si deve anche sottomettere ad un Battesimo chiamato Amrit.
La religione Sikh è strettamente monoteistica, poiché crede in un solo Dio, supremo e assoluto.

Sikhism is the third largest religion by number of faithfuls in India. It was born in the Punjab in the early sixteenth century and was founded by Guru Nanak (1469-1538) in the attempt to reconcile Islam and Hinduism.
In the Islam it captures the look strictly monotheistic: God is the only eternal and omnipotent creator of the universe.
From Hinduism it incorporates the concept of Karma and reincarnation rejecting the caste system.
The word "Guru" means disciple.
A Sikh is someone believing in one God and in the teachings of the ten Gurus, collected in the Guru Granth Sahib, the Sikh holy scripture.
In addition they must also submitt to a baptism called "Amrit".
The Sikh religion is strictly monotheistic as it believes in one God, supreme and absolute.

this is a fine picture of the Sikh temple. The photo has good depth, the colours are nice and there is a very pleasant ambience among the devotees gathered outside.

Hello Cristina,
At first I thought this was a picture of the Golden Temple of the Sikh in Amritsar, Punjab but it's another temple in New Delhi. I don't know this other temple but it looks a little like the Golden Temple.
Excellent presentation of the beautiful architecture and a very pleasant view with the many visitors on the foreground.

This is a great angle on a very great building, i particularly like the lead in from the covered path on the right. Those onion domes always remind me of orthodox architecture, so it's a great pleasure to see this exotic mix of styles.

A very neat picture of the impressive shrine, beautifully shining those golden domes and the white marble edifice.
People/tourists gave extra vivid tones to the scene, which you managed marvelously despite cloudy sky aloft.

P.S. Jerusalem nowadays had changed a lot since 1996, yet the monuments in the old town remain attractive just the same.
