Photographer's Note

At least temporarily I leave Stockholm in present days and move back in time. I have more photos taken at home recently, but I don't particularly like them, so until I manage something better I will search my archives.

Today, and probably for my next two uploads, I will focus on the city of Jaipur, capital of the state of Rajasthan and one of India's most popular tourist spots.

These photos, scanned from a roll of Ilford FP5 B&W negatives, were taken in October 1977. I was on a journey from Bombay to Kashmir, stopping here and there on the way. Today's two pictures are from a small "restaurant" offering various typical snacks. As far as I can see the man in the main photo is selling curd (similar to yoghurt) from a dish made of a leaf of some kind. This kind of yoghurt will of course still be available, but I wouldn't be surprised if less environmentally friendly plastic dishes are used today.

The salesman may have been holding his pose for a few seconds, just to please the foreigner taking a photo, but he didn't seem very interested in me.

Another kind of snack in the WS.
