Photographer's Note

This devotee playing and singing is in a nice and saint place called Raman Reti near Vrindavan..

he belongs to a group who chants the famous HARE KRISHNA mantra in the "ancient" way..

i try to explain better

now we know all over the world the mahamantra sung and recited in this way:

"hare krishna, hare krishna, krishna krishna, hare hare.......
hare rama, hare rama, rama rama, hare hare....."

but previously this mantra was recited by an elite, it was absolutely prohibited to condivide it with the general public and it was chanted starting from the "hare rama..." half

this happened until that the great master and avatara (=god appeared in this world) Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu decided in the 16th century, to give it to everyone in the world

this great personality desiring to spread the mercy of this great system of realization but wanting to avoid to go against the master's injunction to keep this mantra secret, simply started to chant it in a new way as to say that he was not chanting the prohibited mantra but a new one......

before " hare rama, hare rama, rama rama, hare hare..... hare krishna, hare krishna, krishna krishna, hare hare....... "

then "hare krishna, hare krishna, krishna krishna, hare hare....... hare rama, hare rama, rama rama, hare hare....."
