Photographer's Note
I re-edited this image for another purpose and thought that the result was better so I'd re-post it here too.
Sape is the main port for eastern Sumbawa and where you'll get ferries to Flores. Wooden houses, built on stilts in the mud, line the shore, each with a fishing boat moored out the front. There is a bit of boat building going on there too. The boats are constructed with planks of wood bent into shape and held together with rough wooden studs between the planks, not a nail or screw to be seen. These boats were waiting in the early morning to take passengers to nearby coastal towns and islands, when I was waiting for the ferry to Flores. Taken with 3 stop GND filter and -.5 EV

Hi Steve
I guess you could almost call this soft focus. The early morning light has made for a very atmospheric image.
cheers

Hello Steve, Nive view of these boats and their reflections. They look different than the boats I have seen on Flores. The top parts here form the interesting triangle in this composition.
Take care

Hello Steve,
The half dozen times I have re-posted photos I have done it to make hopelessly bad scans a bit better. You made a good photo different. The original version was really very good, but this has a different character from the darker tones and more intense colours. Maybe this version fits your memory of that moment better.
Best regards,
Gert

Hello Stephen,
It is great to experiment with photographs to get different impressions and different moods. I sometimes have a go with the Efex programmes.
I think you have created a different mood by giving the colours more depth.
Your composition is really well thought out and I love how the focal boat appears to have a snout! The fan arrangement of the boats is quite compelling, enhanced by the addition of their reflections.
These boats completely dominate the f/g, yet there is enough b/g to understand the setting.
Keep safe,
Bev :-)

Hello Steve,
I guess you took this picture early in the morning or late in the afternoon.
A colourful row of boats that is beautifully reflected in the sea. Attractive colours and beautiful light!
Also good to see the coastline on the background.
Best regards, Paul

Hi Stephen,
Very successful image edition. Pale tones of the original are gone and now the brighness looks optimal. Warm tones of lower angle light are fairly saturated, but not at all fake looking. Framing is just right like it was in the first place.
