Photographer's Note

Early cold morning where life begins and off to work we go! I went for a rural feel of daily life with this, not quite what I wanted but close enough though.

Taken in Ngada village, Bajawa, along a small mountain road when I spotted a lone farmer walking out in traditional dress on his way to work in the fields carrying all the stuff on his back, extremely irresistible, I thought it deserved a few shots. This is a familiar sight where villagers carry goods on their shoulders, heads and back to reach their destination for quite a long distant & always with ease.

I was lucky to get some good shots from this pov even without facial features with side lighting picking out detail along his profile.

Just simple - nothing out of ordinary, a portrayal of rural life as seen thru' my zoom lens which belies the hard work the people do.

Setting: 300 mm, 1/160 sec, F5.6, ISO Raw 200, 0627 hrs

Maybe in a past medieval life, this woman was a warrior with a shield, a chain mail suit of armour, and a quiver on her back for arrows. But I guess in this day and age, all her battles will be haggling at the markets! Good sharpness and shallow dof. Tfs!

Hello Abmdsudi,
the farmer walks barefoot to his work carrying some interesting baskets. I would love to know how he will use these pieces.
The sunlight highlights him so well. I like the out of focus background where we see another person on the road.

Hello Abmdsudi,

This is a very discrete photograph, we can see him and yet we are left wondering! We can see the farmer is carrying his goods, dressed warmly, for it must be cold and yet, he is wearing no shoes. I find myself wondering if he is too poor to afford shoes or whether shoes are just not part of his daily attire.
It's a lovely example of shallow dof.
