One of tourist village around Toba Lake is Ambarita. As I mentioned in my previous pic about this village, Ambarita is one of family name of bataknese etnic in Samosir Island. This is the traditional housing of Bataknese, of course a little modernised. But the shape still the same. Sephia tonal by PS7

First comes waved sheet metal roof, no more collaboration to maintain the houses.
Second goes the people out of the village for hig wages in the town.
Finally traditional houses demolished to make way for industrialized "living boxes".
This is what happened to Japanese trditional farm houses in last 50 years.
Sheet metal roof in Batak houses seems identical to me.
