Photographer's Note
An Indonesian boy on a pony, in front of the Pagaruyung Palace, in West Sumatra. The locale is south of the town of Bukit-tingi (high hill).
I tried reducing the contrast, by darkening the grass, but preferred the graphism of the dark pony, against the sunlit grass. The 'Palace', has the typical buffalo horn shaped eaves on it's roof. There are ferns growing out of the thatch.

Hello Chris,
Fine and nice pose of the Poney and the boy near the front Palace. Good sharpness and as you say you obtained graphism of the poney aagainst light. Good colors, fine enquadrement and view of the palace also.
Well seen and done!
Congratulations.

Hi Chris. A gentle and colorful scene with the boy in front of the pagoda-roofed building. Quite vivid and interesting how the horse is so much better dressed than its rider.

Hi Chris,
Nice shot of this pony rider. I guess there must be a festival going on looking at the full dressed pony. The palace harmonized well with the subject and the patch of dark green in the foreground helped to create an extra plane which is interesting. Great shot!!! Have a nice weekend.

Wow Chris, amazing colours. The splash of red on the pony really grabs my attention, and the scene with the building is wonderful. Great work!

This is one fine photograph Chris. Good capture of expression and moment and I like this shot for its balance and beauty. The poney seems to be dressed for something special. That part of the image would stand on it's own, but the addition of the building in the background, makes for superb composition.

Hi Chris. The high contrast does have it's advantages like really making the horse jump out of the scene. You did well with not wasting any space and making sure every part of the shot has a purpose. Good work Chris.

Hi Chris,
A most impressive composition. A good example of two distinct layers of great interest - the boy on the pony and the exquisite Palace beyond. The colours are vivid and arresting. Again I am amazed at the quality of this older photo you obtained in scanning. The palm leaf angling in on the right reminds us of the lush vegetation abounding despite the starker rocky hill in the background. A great capture at the decisive moment.

Captivating scenery. The fact that everything looks quite typical is very nice. Nice colors and details. Just wished we could see the top of the building.
