Photographer's Note
A lakeside torii in Lake Ashi at Moto Hakone. If you look carefully you will spot another big torii gate on the opposite shore framed by the fg torii. It dates from 1667 and was assembled from an earlier torii on Komagatake peak.

Hello Chris, This torii in Hakone is not so famous as another one near Hiroshima. Maybe I have it in far away from the boat. I like the composition with the gate in water and its reflections.
Best regards MAlgo

Hi Chris
Great timing for the sun on the toriis - we wouldn't be able to see the second one if it was out of the sun. Well composed.
cheers

Pozdrav.
Lep pogled i trenutak, dobar tekst ...
Lepa konstrukcija u vodi i grane drveta, dobro pokazano sa lepim bojama, kontrastom i uhvacenim trenutkom sa oblakom koji dolazi i najavljuje promenu vremena.
Dobar rad, lepa fotografija.
Zelim vam lepo popodne, sve najbolje.

Hi Chris, the torii on the opposite bank can be seen quite well thanks to its very bright orange color, similar to the main one, a unique, typical Japanese architecture, in a perfect and well detailed capture. Have a nice day and thanks,Luciano

Hello Chris,
The strong light enhances the colour of the attractively designed torii and the huge cloud provides a good background. Shrubs and branches frame the view nicely.
Best regards,
Gert

Bonjour Chris,
Les branches aident à cadrer le Torii. La prise de vue permet de voir les détails du Moto Hakoni Torii. La lumière fait ressortir les couleurs. Bonne journée.

Hello Chris,
I have never heard of a torii before so I had to research it, something I really enjoy doing! It is like travelling without the expense!!!
This really is a fine example, bright red, sharp and very strongly placed in your frame. Its reflections add to the immediate impact.
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Hello Chris,
I've seen the famous torii of the Itsukushima shrine in Miyajima but not this one in Moto Hakone.
Its bright red colour makes the photo so eye-catching.
Yes, I found the other torii at the other side of the water.
Nice to be able to show two gates in one picture.
Wonderful with the steep green slopes next to the sea.
Excellent framing with the branches.
Best regards, Paul

Hi Chris
Beautifully dominant and your write-up is fascinating, the image is striking, and I like the inclusion of the 'little' torri in the background.
Best regards

Hi Chris,
This is one of those beautiful very photogenic Japanese towers. I like the strong red color of it. The closest I got to seeing one was probably on Madeira.
Nice angle and light. Pleasant weather with lovely clouds in the sky.
Very well done,
M
