Photographer's Note
The Tokiwadai Photo Studio was originally built in Itabayashi Ward in Tokyo in 1937, now stands in the Edo Tokyo Architectural Museum, in Koganei Park, Tokyo. Lighting equipment still being relatively poor in the 1930's a large part of the roof was made of frosted glass to allow natural, yet diffused (due to the frosting) light to enter the studio. The photos in the foreground are originals from that era.
