Photographer's Note
Another photo from my huge backlog.
Again from my honeymoon in Japan 2015, this from Beppu in Oita. More specificly from one of "The Eight Hells of Beppu".
For those that do not know, Beppu is regarded by many as the hotspring capitol of the Japan, if not the world. located within the city are eight famous hot springs that are the origin of the eight hells name. Naturally, these hotsprings are way to hot be enjoyed for bathing, but still create a magnificen tview and attraction for tourists.
Not my best photo, but I just like how the torii offered a bright colour contrast through the mist of the azure blue hotspring.

Hello Odd Jarle,
A great photo of all the mist rising up from the spring. The contrast with the brightly coloured vegetation and the red elements is amazing, as you say. Very well captured.

Odd, amazing geothermic site to discover in Japan. The steam coming from the hot spring is spectacular. The red arcade and the emerald water match well together. Good image quality, instructive photo note, regards

Hello Odd
Great contrasts between the rising smoke and the colours of green and torii behind it. Japan is very much on our radar (my wife is studying the language) so we hope to visit it too one of the next big holidays.
Thanks for your critiques too.

Hello Odd
I live in Japan for six years. I have many fond memories of the people and landscape. You did well with this view to let the rising steam create the drama needed for the famed 8 hells brining their presence to the surface.

Just exploring your collection. Having lived in Japan, there are many wonderful sites there. Torii's are always unique in shape and color in Japan, The natural steam adds a dragon breath effect to the site. Good work ! Have a nice weekend, David

Hello, Odd!
Very nice capture of these hotsprings with smoke all around, which creates a very interesting atmosphere! The colors are beautiful and well saturated, I especially like the contrast created by this red structure! Wonderful composition! Well done!

Hi Odd.
A sensational composition, with this beautiful place, with several components to give beauty, the blue of the thermal source and its steam, which creates a beautiful effect wrapping the torii that with its intense red gives a strong chromaticism, the varied vegetation is also very important.
Good management of brightness and sharpness.
Well done. I love.
Have a great day.
Very best regards.
Luis.

Mist, fog and smoke are my favourite subjects in photography (mine and everyone else's) so this is exactly the kind of image I love to look at. Especially that the white vapour is combined with vibrant complementary colours, red and green, with a touch of turquoise in the corner. This photo really makes me want to be there.
Best wishes
Kasia
