Photographer's Note
an old house in Odaka before broken
yesterday, severe earthquakes and tsunamis attacked my country, and we suffered great damage from it,
I was safe, but in Tohoku area, the disaster is incredible,
today the disaster looks enlarging time by time,
I wish the victims and damage not to increase and to be minimum...now,
this was an old house in Odaka Town at 2004, but yesterday it was completely broken and washed away by severe tsunami, and whole town is too,
and I'm afraid of the Odaka-Shrine to be destroyed...

Hi Akihisa,
We watch CNN all the time to updated on the Japan's situation, and pictures coming not seem to be optimistic, by hope for the better.
This houes's picture is a good documentation to past, already not there - and good that you had kept this in archives.

It's a pitty that nature claimed this simplle and beautiful house. The architectural style of Japan is really beautiful. I really wish that God help you all recover from this disaster, and that the pains may be diminished with time. I know Japanese are very strong people that have already survived lots of man-made and natural disasters, but it must be very hard. May God help you all!

Hello Dear Akihisa,
The world has been hanging onto each word from journalists reporting the earthquake and tsunami, and the aftershocks. I hope that you and your family are alright, and I am happy to see a report from someone I know on Trekeart who has experienced the unspeakable tragedy at first hand. The Japanese are known worldwide for their courage and resilience. I have no doubt that as a nation, Japan will bounce back stronger than ever.
I want you to know that all of your many friends at Trekearth wish you and your countrymen continued courage and strength. You have our sympathies and warm wishes.

Dear Akihisa,
Please know you and all of the people of Japan are in my thoughts. The pictures and reports of the devastation from the earthquake and tsunami are alarming. I hope you, your family, and friends are warm and safe with plenty of food and water. Yesterday when the television news was reported from Japan, snow was falling there. I was reminded of your beautiful snowy landscapes posted on TrekEarth.
With caring concern and my deepest sympathy.
