Inside the UFO, a photo from Tokyo, Kanto

Photographer's Note

Taken at the Terminal 2 of Tokyo International Airport. I have chosen color temperature 3200 K in developing the raw image to emphasize a feel like a UFO.
Although the image may seem to be distorted by the anti-gravity waves from the UFO, it's only caused by the distortion of wide-angle lens !? ;-)

Tokyo International Airport, located in Haneda, Tokyo, Japan, is one of the two primary airports serving the Greater Tokyo Area. It is commonly known as Haneda Airport.
Terminal 2 opened on December 1, 2004. It features an open-air rooftop restaurant, a six-story "marketplace" area with restaurants and shops.

Hello Hisashi,

I agree with you, it looks like an UFO.
Good choice for the white balance. Sometimes, looking for a natural balance is not the best choice and it is very well demonstrated here where the blue dominante makes feel more futurist.
Moreover, the composition is good: the elements are well filling the frame.

What a great scifi inspired building. Upwards angle greatly emphasize this atmosphere and so does your choice of tones. All the round forms look really good.

Superb upload today. I like the wide angle view, the composition, and the colour balance very much. It really does look like a UFO. The exposure and sharpness are superb. You didn't say if you used a tripod, but if you didn't this is very good work with a hand-held at 1/15 sec. Excellent shot and interesting note.

A very sophisticated structure, looks straight out of star treks, and the colors fit very well to the modernism of the structures, obviously the low K-temperature contributes to this effect.

seems really an UFO. Excellent point of view and exposition. The rest was made by your Full Frame camera: To reach the same focal lenght of 19mm I have tou mount my 12-24 mm. The defintion is sharp and tones are all there. Did you used a tripod?
Very nice shoting.
My daughter is studing Japanese, so may be that next comments will be provided in your language..

So dynamic, so futuristic!! Very creative photo with excellet white balance that gives the feeling that it looks like a UFO. The exposure is also perfect!
When I've been to Japan in 2004, we landed on Narita Airport (from Zurich). From Tokyo we flew to Akita. It is possible that we departed from Haneda Airport? I can't remember.. :$

Fantastic idea as always.
I really like your compositions, they are not only of great quality but really creative, especially the titles are so adequate. This one again is amazing.
I am surprised though: recently I tried to take a shot in the new Heathrow terminal and the security did not allow me to do that. May be I just don't look nice and security is always bothering me everywhere?

another great shot, Hisashi, the futuristic colours and sci-fi shapes certainly make the place look lika a spaceship. again, the clarity is amazing, I feel like I'm standing right there and could touch the cool and smooth surface of the metal if I stretch my arm just a little. nice work, I like it a lot.

Very impressive ! Very futuristic for an european like me. A very photogenic airport. There is a great graphism but it seems also there are also interesting plays of lights. A duo green/bleu very elegant.
I would like much to visit this place. It's not a problem to have to wait his plane in a such place.
