Chaque année, de père en fils, ces nomades viennent passer les 6 mois d'été sur le haut plateau de la vallée de l'Arpa, au pied du Tian Chan, les Monts Célestes.
Ils y gardent les troupeaux de moutons, vaches, chevaux et yacks que leur ont confié les fermiers et les riches propriétaires des villages de la plaine

Year after year, one generation after the other, these nomads spend the 6 summer months on the high plateau of the Arpa valley, at the foot of the Tian Shan range, the Celestial Mountains
Day after day, they look after herds of sheep, cows, horses and yacks they have been entrusted with by the farmers and rich owners of the villages in the plains

Hello Patrick,
beautiful rural scene from Kyrgyzstan.It´s perfectly composed and framed.It has superb clarity and very nice colors.But one thing make the picture unforgettable and unique-namely this wonderful,warm light that illuminates so amazing the whole valley.Spectacular shot!

The low sun provides long shadows and warm colours. A breathtaking landscape view and a very pleasant scene with this woman and her cows.

tu travailles pour Géo ou le National Goographic?
Une belle lumière douce qui allonge les ombres, des nuages sur la montagne qui donnent du relief et cette paysanne souriante pendant que le veau prend son tour pour obtenir du lait. Vu le cheptel derrière elle, elle a du boulot!

Voici donc la Perrette kyrghize au sourire enjôleur et la jolie robe colorée. A voir le nombre de vaches de son troupeau, ses journées doivent être bien remplies. La photo est superbe et nous plonge dans cette large plaine baignée de lumière, fermée par la barrière de montagnes. Elle nous montre que même sous les climats et dans les régions les plus hostiles et reculés de la planète, les hommes ont toujours su s'adapter aux conditions difficiles de leur environnement. Bravo pour cette image bien composée.

i guess, this scene, even with the lady, has changed very little since the times of genghis khan. so weird to have this place, such isolated and untouched, on our technologic world. and no tourists either. a definite must go. some day, hopefully :)

Hello Patrick,
This looks like the ultimate symbol of a rural idyll of Central Asia. Probably life is a lot tougher than what it looks like here. There is anyway an immense beauty in this view, to which the smiling lady, the animals, the vast open space and the distant mountains all contribute. A perfect exposure and sharpness as always.
