Photographer's Note

Here is a very friendly man i met in the Satok weekend market in Satok, about 15 minutes away from Kuching City centre. well, i call him "medicine man" simply because he sells medicines... traditional herbs, roots ointment and lots of other stuff. In front of him, you can see his suitcase whereby his trade is stored.
Satok weekend market is an open market that opens during the weekend. The traders from all races and places nearby will sell their stuff in the saturday afternoon until the next day - sunday afternoon. And yes, it opened at night too! You can find anything under the sun here, from fresh stuff (vegetables, fruits, fish etc.) to clothing, plants, flower and even pets. You name it, you got it! It is a favorite spot for tourists because you can experience the diversity of Sarawak culture here.
One reason that you should come and visit this market is that you can see various jungle produce and exotic vegetables, fruits and other things sold by the natives. I don't think i have seen some of the things found here in the other parts of Malaysia!

So, if you happen to drop by in Sarawak, make a point to visit this interesting Satok Market!
