Photographer's Note
This is the Central Market ("Pasar Seni" in Malaysian) situated near Petaling Street in Kuala Lumpur. They started in 1888 as wet markets and the present facade you see was built in 1936 in the Art Deco style by the occupying British. Inside the Markets are many different traditional arts and crafts.

Ciao Lisa, bella prospettiva sul mercato coperto, ottima nitidezza e bei colori, interessante documentazione di uno stile architettonico poco conosciuto, brava, buon week end, un caro abbraccio Silvio

Ciao Lisuccia
Salutissimi

Hi Lisa,
I like going here for the air con, and there are some cute thingys to buy too. Upstairs the hawker centre food is good and cheap too.
All the best to you and your family over the festive season.

Ciao Lisa,
I like the oblique perspective here and the blue pastel tones. Doesn't sound the sort of place I would frequent myself, but I know some people who would be delighted to:-) Hope you are enjoying your Christmas break, or are you having to work?

Gidday Lisa,
I have to say, even though I see none of it in Ireland, I do love Art Deco style of building, visiting Miami was a moment to remember. I would never have thought that you would find such a fine example here though, so a very pleasant surprise. When I seen your thumbnail, I first thought that this must be a cinema, but I guess thats because this style of architecture is so synonymous with particular building types. Really great view to take in so much of the fine building.
Did they sell Timtams? :)
All the best.

Hi Lisa
never realised Art Deco had reached Malaysia and this is particularly stunning. Love your POV and the detailing is magnificent. Beautiful and compelling building captured and presented superbly.
Enjoy the last weekend of 2012 - Brian.

Ciao Lisa
This market could be in South Beach in Florida where everything is art déco à gogo.I like the diagonale in the picture and the management of the difficult light.
Happy new year to you and your family

Hey Lisa
When i think of Malaysia, I don't really think of buildings such as this, but its cool to see it.
just think about how often we get to see this color in or on buildings...about hardly ever.
reminds me of the color paint in our condo :)
an interesting subject, like it alot!
PS
sad to see another TE member leave us.
