‘Kuala Lumpur - A classic view’

I was a little afraid that my previous photo would not be satisfying and I had first planned to show it in a WS at this classic picture.
This view has been shown many times. However, I also wanted to have my own version of the Petronas Twin Towers :)

I already traveled through West Malaysia in 1993 and was then of course also in Kuala Lumpur.
However, there were no Twin Towers at the time. Since I recently travelled through Asia for a few months, I wanted to go once again to KL.

I didn't recognize the city at all, not even Chinatown. A result of aging and the ever-changing Malaysian capital ...

A pleasant surprise was that the country with the best economy of the ones I visited, was no more expensive to stay than the others.

In the center of KL (within walking distance of the Twin Towers, Chinatown and Merdeka Square) I paid less for a good room in a budget hotel than in the other capitals I visited.
The prices in the restaurants were also not too bad. You can also use the cheap public transport that is better priced than the tuk-tuks in lots of other countries (I certainly acknowledge the charm of trips by tuk-tuk).
Furthermore, I paid exactly the same for almost everything as what the Malaysian resident paid for it. What a relief!
Only the guided visit to the Twin Towers was not really cheap.
Of course, if you like you can live very expensive in KL.
