Colonial Architecture: Old Penang, a photo from Pulau Pinang, West

Photographer's Note

This is the British Governor-General's Colonial House by Penang Sea in Penang, Malaysia, which was wonderfully restored by the Malaysian Government in the late 1990s.

Penang used to be a British Colony, hence a lot of the roads and highways continue to be named after their former Governor-Generals. Taken from the 20th floor of Northam Suites at high noon. Since it's a small island, within just a day you can see much of Penang and its old Portugese, Indian and British architecture.

Josh,
I like your composition and POV here. The photo has good color and lighting with nice sharpness. I think a polarizer would have helped to control the glare from the white surfaces of the house.

Like your POV a lot has caught the details of the beautiful architecture very well... Love these colonial buildings... none so grand here where I am except that palace.

Ah. I love the old colonial architecture of SE Asia. I have several shots of Myanmar in my folder. It certainly is an impressive building with some interesting colours. Quality wise, a polariser would have been good and also, next time, don't increase the saturation by too much. I find the colours vivid, but a little too unrealistic.
