Photographer's Note

Kota Kinabalu (formerly Jesselton)is the capital of Sabah state in Malaysia. The city is located on the northwest coast of Borneo facing the South China Sea. The Tunku Abdul Rahman National Park lies on one side and Mount Kinabalu, which gave the city its name, is nearby.

You can also find many stilt villages around the city, in the areas of Sembulan, Tanjung Aru, Kampung Likas, and Kampung Pondo in Pulau Gaya. These houses are built on coastal shallow waters and are typical homes for the Bajau and Suluk inhabitants.

For the sunset I headed to one of the water village areas, but just before sunset I had some crazy tropical storm with lots of rain, however it ended just in time so I could take some nice shots of that amazing sky that exploded with color later on.
