This is an escalator system in the Penang KOMTAR. As you can see, there are NO people inside.

Sadly, Penang KOMTAR has lost all its glory that it has in its heydays in the 80s. Currently, the new Penang state government is trying to revive its popularity again.

Until then, it will remain desserted.

Hi Yahwen,
Long time no see my friend. And the same goes to Komtar. Yes it was a bustling and the happening place in the 80s. I even bought my first "computer" here. It was a ZX Sinclair 64K. And outside at Gama, every friday after prayer, nasi kandak. A huge plate with a mountain of rice on it and with so much curries, meats and everything else thrown in for gluttony measures :), I had to actually finger "dig" to get through to the rice.

Now, it looks so abandoned, so dead quiet. It's like everyone has left the city in such a hurry, they didn't bother switching off the lights. So quiet I could actually hear the voices of those bustling heyday years, floating in.

You did well with the HDR. Most HDRed works I saw, they have patches of funny grey areas and over saturated colors. It is good to be realistic with HDR, to go easy with the sliders.

It's nice to see you posting again old friend.

Wow! I just never thought of snapping away at this part of Penang. I always saw the inside of KOMTAR as pretty dull and not worthy of any posterity. Well this one definitely blows me away! Great job.
