Photographer's Note
Two generations
These are mother and daughter.
My guide ,himself from the Akkha tribe knows this family and we have been invited to their house.
While the mother is still wearing her traditional dress and headgear, her daughter seems to prefer the modern western style with blue jeans and nail polish.
For me a pitty that traditions get lost there , but I can understand the young generation.
Especially in Myanmar, which was isolated from the rest of the world, except China, for more than fifty years.

Hello Ronny,
Your photograph clearly shows mother and daughter and evidences the differences in dress, between the two.
The mother's headdress is very ornate and, perhaps, difficult to deal with when working. I wonder, maybe the daughter wears something similar just for traditional festivals, as occurs in many regions of the world.
Thanks for sharing this,
Bev :-)

Hello Ronny,
Interesting double portrait. A pitty that traditional dress will not be used by new generations , but that is life.
My grand mother wore traditional breton dress and headdress , that could still be seen in the end of 20th century. Nowadays it only weathers in folklore groups .

Hello Ronny, a lovely study of the mother and daughter.
With the dark surroundings, the head-dress stands out so clearly. It is very elaborate and beautiful; and I imagine that it must be quite heavy.
Is she wearing it for a special occasion? She doesn't wear it every day does she?
Thanks for sharing, kind regards, Jean.

Hi Ronny
A cracking shot of mom & daughter where darker bg helps emphasise the colours of her traditional costume, facial features and headdress. How generation separates where the contrast is so obvious here but love the sense of genuine feel in their expressions. A beautiful emotive double portraits in a relaxed informality that you convey.
Best regards

HI Ronny
A good photo showing the contrasts between generations. It would be interesting to see if the girl changes her attire as she gets older.
cheers

Hello Ronny, We can see that it is the mother and daughter, they look similar. from the point of view of the tourists, t people should live like in old times but especially the young ones prefer to live in modern times. Fantastic headgear of the old woman.
when I was in Chin village, we were also invited to the houses, The guide knew the people and we brought some gifts - mainly betel leaves.
Best regards Malgo
