Hi Bob,

I like this a lot, his very poetic position, the bamboo raft and subtle colors. Very calm water and his reflection. Great composition, where one could see his surroundings yet not too centered. Nice shot!

I like the composition. Good you didn't zoom in farther because it would not show the lonelyness. Good you didn't zoom out too far because seeing only the water and no horizon adds to it in my view.

Interesting middle composition. Lost without any frames.
I think that you can try to make vignetting effect for corners.
Little bit sliding darker for pictures corners. Thats maybe "moves" your picture little bit further away from watcher.

I appreciate the scenery -or precisely the lack of scenery- quite much but there are two things that are deceptive in this pic which prevent me to write that I really like it.

Firstly, your camera meter was fooled by water reflection hence underexposed the shot by at least 1 stop, while I reckon it could be a perfect image for a higher key and therefore will be enhanced with a 2 stops overexposure.

The second bother is about composition : pulling the guy towards the left side frame would help balancing the whole image... you know about the "thirds" thingy, right now it appears just... bland... i'm looking right in th ecenter then my reading slips away like a crazy compass, without any direction : the magic of the thirds is that it gives the whole image a direction.
