Photographer's Note

All so devoted and lost in deep fervent prayer in front of her Lord and I simply couldn't resist capturing this one. Fearing the faithful devotee would hear my shutter trip and ruin the shot, I had to make sure of one quick kill.

It seemed I was not the only one feeling the effects of getting up at dawn to be at one of the most sacred religious complex in the country- Shwedagon Paya, Rangoon.

Setting: 300 mm, 1/500 sec, F5.6, ISO Raw 200, 0805 hrs

Excellent use of a shallow dof with the bg lady adding symmetry. Good fg sharpness with superb lighting and composition. Tfs!

For just one click, this is a moment perfectly chosen and captured. I seem to remember Shwedagon opens at 6 am and for a reason, as worshippers start flowing in at that early hour. I was there, with my camera, yawning too. :-)

A great side portrait of these two praying one, one of whom you caught really well just when she was yawning. Fantastic timing. Their white clothes stand out well from the background as well. Excellent sharpness and clarity.
