Photographer's Note
She walks with her young brother through the village, he has something that he is eating tucked in his shirt, she turns to see where the other sibblings are. I really had to think of hansel and gretel here, and imagine them leaving a trail of crumbs so that they could return home.

Hi Elaine,
You have caught the right atmosphere in this photograph. Yes, it's like a fairy tale.
In fact Myanmar has plenty of fairy tales landscapes and you feel this sensation most of the times.
I like very much the light.
Best regards,
Roser

A beautiful picture with real atmosphere. The wee lass looking away gives a sense of mystery in the distance.
The muted colours add to it all.

A really beautiful shot here...of this young girl and little brother right behind. The misty haze lends to a storybook feel, yes...and her pose and demeanor just make the photo complete. A wonderful shot...very nicely done.

Hi Elaine,
wow - really like a fairy tale. I just love how most of the shot is gray and brown, but the girl's pink shirt and the boy's red vest dominate. The trees, the people in the b/g - a truly fantastic shot! And that boy's face just makes my heart melt.
Thanks and take good care,
Linda

Hello Elaine,
As a composition, this is stunningly beautiful, and I agree about the fairy-tale atmosphere. But i am puzzled by the lack of contrast and the rather dull colours. Is that deliberate? I think it would have looked much better with more pp, while still keeping it's fantastic atmosphere. I'll post a ws to show you what I mean. Hope you won't mind.
Kind regards,
Gert

Hi Elaine,
Good to see you posting again after awhile. My favorite subject and location, children and Burma. Perfect. A very nostalgic image, I can see my older sister and me in this one. A life so long ago, but I can still remember it like it was only yester year.
Great moment, I like the misty atmosphere. Very soft and low light that give the overall image that soft texture and gentle quality, like the people of Burma. Thank you.

Fantastic idea and well-taken, I think holmertz's workshop is an improvement. I would also be tempted to try to recreate the colours of an older film style for this photo, such as Kodachrome.
