Photographer's Note
On top of Swayambhunath hill is the ‘Monkey Temple’, which does have monkeys wandering about it.
The wee girl was holding onto a Vajra (Dorje in Tibetan). This is a Bhudist ritual implement held in a Lama's right hand.
The translation is a thunderbolt or diamond so it represents brightness & durability.
Scanned in from a print.
