The Lover's Sunset, a photo from Cebu, Central Visayas

Photographer's Note

I was born in the beautiful island of Bantayan, Cebu, Philippines. All my life I was looking at sunsets and sunrises… looking but never truly appreciating the glory and beauty of this natural phenomenon …until I found myself engrossed in photography.

Ironically, I found my first true appreciation of a sunset not in my hometown. One fine summer day, we were vacationing at San Remigio Beach Club in mainland Cebu when I caught my first sunset on camera. I was simply amazed that I took about a hundred shots of one sunset… I never expected the sun’s setting was so fast there no time to call my wife and kids to witness the phenomenon…

Among the several shots I took of the same sunset, I scratched an arm taking this one… They’re obviously not fishermen, but lovers…

Fantastic shot. I like how you have lined it up such that the reflection of the sun on the water intersects the position of the fishermen (sorry - lovers).

This is such a beatiful pic. The way you have the reflection of the sun lined up with the two in the boat makes this image close to being perfect. I'm truly impressed.

I'm really inspired now to pursue photography daniel! i really, really love this photo! sunset is the best scenery ever for me! opk is right - I think it's so cool to be able to align the reflection of the sun on the water with the boat. Nice pic as always! I'd love to go back to Cebu one of these days...
