Photographer's Note
Do you still remember her? She's the girl in this picture
I think she deserves another look, this time, with a flicker of hope in her eyes. The Philippine government is indeed doing something to keep the children out of the streets but with the May presidential elections coming, the politicians are busy campaigning now than serving their constituents.

good humanity shot manny and i like the framing which keeps the statement contained..i havent found out how to do this yet..
not looking at the camera suggests candid nature of photo which lends to the apartness of the observer.

And you are right, she does... Lovely shot Manuel. One day I'll have to write you longer to ask you about your country. A place I have never been too. But since I am on TE, I have seen so many places I still would love to visit. Thank's Manuel, this is a splendid candid shot.

I remember this girl... on both pictures she is playing with her foot... and both pictures are sad. but here we can see both her eyes, big eyes. she looks somewhere outside the frame, something caught her attention...
anyway, it is a nice picture, very real

The eyes and the pose really make this shot. And the stairs is a great background for her. Beautiful light and brown tones. And great framing. Again - very well done.
I guess this shot could work also in B&W.

Great photo! Great note! It's good to see photos on this site that challenge our social awareness. The expression you captured is great, and the muted colors add to the atmosphere. Very well done!

The lines and the monotone colour toning of the stairs makes it a very attractive graphical background. It brings out even more your main subject Manual, a very strong contrast I might say; the stairs symbolizing hardness, a fixed destination... Versus this girl's fragility and her uncertain future... Another powerful portrait of you!

Manny, what a expression. I found it very difficult to see that a lot of children living on the street. You picture shows the emotion of the little girl very well. The dirt on her feets and her big brown eyes. Good picture!

I miss your earlier shot of this beautiful girl. I like this one better because generally, I like to see more hopeful faces. This picture is very good (one of your best) because of the subtle colours and strong texture. I like this a lot.

There is still sadness in this shot, it is just a flicker; some kids have all the bad luck in the world.
A powerful shot, would also work in B&W i think.
Super shot, the sadness makes it more poignant.

A picture that makes one a bit sad. This little girl, dirty and not looking to well. A sad story Manny.

Hi Manuel, strong shot this time. I agree, as I say ever, I think the kids and women are the only hope for our world, because we can see it in their eyes. Very good portrait, perfectly framed and composed.

Yes, I do remember her, Manny, and this is another great shot. Very good composition, and very good capture. Well done.

This is very good Manny. Really a good shot, telling more in a photo than can be told with words. I also like that the colors are not super saturated and overly rich, I believe that wouldn't suit the mood of this shot. My only tiny nit is I wish you had not cropped her back quite as you have. very good work here Manny.

again a very nice daily life shot from you Manny.
In all your pictures, I really like your post-processing work, with this nice lightning filter effect, just smooth enough to concentrate the attention on the subject.

I just want to add my voice to the others and say that's a great shot, I like how she sits in the stairs playing with her toes.
Unbelievable in this country here that we could see so young children in the street. Unfortunatley I don't see any flicker of hope in her eyes.
Oh yes, just went to see the other one, I see what you mean. I'd say that in this one she doesn't look as much afraid.

I remember her vividly, Manny. It's another compelling and candid picture of her. She seems to be looking at something outside that we don't know about; her eyes are incredible. Great framing.

Encore une belle réussite, j'aime beaucoup l'expression de cette jeune fille que vous avez su si bien capter. Bravo.
Still a beautiful success, I like much the expression of this girl whom you knew to collect so well. Bravo.

A beautiful shot, even if it is a sad one. Your composition is excellent. The steps make a very good background.

Yees, I remember this little princess from your other picture! :-) I am happy here I can see all her face and enjoy the unique child's universe in her eyes! The whole composition is perfect and the framing is keeping it tight! Her posture is so deeply touching... Great job Manny!

Super shop in both sense, as a phototgraph and as a human being. It's really sad to see that nice looking girl in that situation. I hope one day that things will be wgual for everybody but it's a dream.
It's also to bab that politics come first in every country but in some place the impact is much more devastating.

Great 'touch-heart' picture, Manuel. So did your note. But, as probably you knew, in many places such 'sad faces' became commercialization by some mature persons. They exploited to work very very hard, while actually they need to play with friends only.
I'm waiting 4 your other post....

Great photo. Interesting note. I can see the hope in her eyes; she must be looking at something she likes. Well captured.

Very powerful image. Your lighting filter is much more subtle in this shot, and I feel even more effective (if you used it--it looks like you did, but I could be wrong). Composition is so very strong. Wonderful work, Manuel!

Curious, here the politians are allawys campaigning even after their elected! :o)
Even if I prefer the first post this one is indeed less sad. Continue to like the tones and details.

Very nicely captured shot Manuel. It shows the hard reality that these street children go through. Its very sad but true!
