Photographer's Note
...In year 1663 6-years-old son of rich merchant Nikifor Chepolosov, Ivan, was murdered by the reasons unknown. Murderer, named Rudak, was clerk of Chepolosov.
In memory of his lost son Nikifor decided to built a church on the shore of Volga river and in year 1689 accomplished this. So here it is, church of the Nativity of St John the Baptist. Small Ivan is buried inside of it, his grave was found in 1960-s, during the repairing of the church.

Hi Uhu,
This is a well-executed shot. The colours and the composition are nice and the converging verticals not too apparent.
Best wishes,
Jeremy

hi Uhu
It is really a pity that a great photo capture like this one is not well appreciated. Only 2 points out of 124 views, hard for me to believe.
This is a superb composition and exposure to show a fine example of great architecture.
Always interesting to see Russian architecture aspects from your posting. Keep shooting.
