Олегова Могила - курган в Старой Ладоге, второй по размерам на Северо-Западе. Согласно одной из версий, насыпан на месте захоронения князя Олега, родственника Рюрика, то есть Вещего Олега. Один из древнейших рукотворных амятников России.
Barrow on the shore of Wolhov river in Old Ladoga, according to some historians, built on the place of Prince Oleg The Seer burial. Prince Oleg was a relative of Prince Rurik - founder of Rurikid dinasty that ruled Russia for 700 years. He was a bold warrior and also had some talents that gave him a nickname "The Seer". Ruled during pre-Christian period of Russian history, in early Medieval Ages.
According to the legend, magicians foretelled his death, telling that his horse will kill him. Soon after that his horse died, and Oleg after 4 years came on the place where sceleton of his horse was laying. He asked: "So how he can kill me?" Said that he took a skull of his horse in his hand, and big snake slided out of it, bite him, and he died.
