Photographer's Note
Kazan Cathedral during the evening. Moscow has some beautifull and colorfull buildings and many corrupted policeman.
The story about this picture is that it was my first day in Moscow and I had planned to shoot some pictures with the tripod during the evening. I was shooting around the Red Square and this was the last building I had to shoot. When suddenly a Russian policeman came to me and I had to come with him. I was in big trouble he said. So I followed him to his kamarads and they said I was in big trouble `cause I was spying around the Kremlin with my dSLR and tripod. That was not alowed. They said I had to pay a "fine" of 15000 roubels (aprox. € 500), eventually I paid them € 100 and I could go. Remember I was alone with six policemen around me and I had to catch my train the next morning to go to Beijing. They were very intimidating

Actually, it's not allowed to use professional cameras and tripods around Kremlin, but I have no slightest idea where they inform ordinary people of that. I also came across such a thing, but as I'm Russian (and was not alone) I could easily wriggle out of fines and such.
As for the picture - an exemplary evening shot and perfect colours =)
If you come around to Moscow once again (even after having had a conversation with our cops) contact me, I could show you some more of our city =)

Hi Lars,
Nice colours! However, I think you could have corrected a bit the converging verticals on Photoshop.
As for the cops, is there really a law against tripods around the Kremlin? The fact that they settled for 100 euros tends to show that either there is no law or it is not well enforced (otherwise you would have had to pay the full price!). You should not have paid! Cops are a real plague for independent tourists in Russia!
