The Gate, a photo from Clementi, West

Photographer's Note

At the end of Lim Chu Kang Road in NW Singapore had a small pier that is still regularly used by small fisherman and people commuting by small boats to nearby Malaysian coastal towns. Not sure why there is a gate on the pier? Perhaps its quite dangerous to walk on this small slippery pier?

Nice shot John..

I like the composition and the early morning light. The colors are a very subtle pastel. Really nice...

Very good composition with the strong angle of the jetty in the foreground and excellent DOV. Nice texture of the sand on the right. Nice light.

Hi John. I really enjoy the low-light atmosphere of this one, and the composition is really a fine one too with the pier at the left adding a strong element to lead the viewer into the scene, while at the right we can gently let the eye wander towards the boat and hut in the background. Beautiful red hues in the sky, well done.

Hi John, I like this very well exposed pic with its warm light and subtle silhouetted forms very much. The compo is spot - the placement of the pier is vital here and the soft blue-to-red gradients are exquisite. Congrats, very good work!
