Trip to Singapore – Day one: The cold beer

Singapore being located just north of the Equator is characterised by a very warm weather, even for someone born in Africa and living in Queensland, Australia as my wife and I. At this time of the year, I think that saying Singapore is a “continuous sauna” is a quite fair statement. As soon as we step out of any air conditioned place the sweat starts and the de-hydration takes hold of us. So, to overcome it, we could not find anything better than a “cold beer” in a cool place. And that was exactly what we have done during our first afternoon in town, after a short stroll along Orchard Road and a visit to the Singapore Visitor Centre to get some info about what could be seen and done during the week we had planned in the city.

The place on the photo is the outdoor bar in front of Marriott Hotel and the picture shows the bar on a huge mirror on the wall.

For the elegant (!!!) beer glass, please check the WS.
