Photographer's Note
Ironically i found myself at a Buddhist temple--the most regal i've ever seen--on Easter weekend. Coincidentally it's also Tomb Sweeping Day, a national holiday for China and Taiwan.
The Jung Tai Monastery is located in Puli, the geographic center of Taiwan. The magnificent temple was built among the rice paddies over 10 years, an amazing contrast to its humble setting. Since the temple was quite crowded today, it was nice to get this shot of a single person with a single buddha.

I like this Kristy - just the space around both figurtes and this juxtaposition between the contemporary and the old - a very engageing composition - so many horizontal lines always make a very readable image.
best wishes Kev

Hi Kristy,
This is a great idea and a great image. I wonder, though, how might it look had you included the whole reflection and brought the top of the frame down. Did you take a series of photos here or just the one? It would be cool also if the woman had walked a little less so that you might capture her reflection. Just a thought. Otherwise, a great effort. Cheers!

Kristy,
This photo should get more points, I think. I like many strong contrasts in it, especially directions of the the buddha and the lady. The reflection is also special. A pity that the lady only showed her half reflection. But anyway you cannot control her. Nice job.

Hi Kristy!
Good composition with both, the statue and the lady at perfect positions. It`s unusual to see a Buddha statue in such a modern enviroment, but here it works well and I like the background with the squre balconies.

Hi Kristy. A well balanced shot and one that has great control of the exposure, considering he different light conditions you had to accommodate.Excellent colours and colour contrasts between the monochromatic browns and the deep orange of the statue. Regards. Klaudio.
