Photographer's Note
This photo was taken inside Wat Thepthidaram in central Bangkok. The temple is near to the Democracy Monument (just south of) if you want to find it on a street map as it is not mentioned in my Lonely Planet Bangkok guide.
The walls surrounding the second floor of this temple are painted stark white and are lined with dark statues of Buddha in different poses, dressed in golden cloth and daubed with gold paint.
I had a new Canon 100mm Macro lens to play with and so I was experimenting with the DOF! I was there for about half an hour taking photos and enjoying the peace and quiet and never saw another person in all this time - something of a rarity in bustlng Bangkok!
Frame added in Photoshop as the image looked rather thin despite the fact that I hadn't cropped the image.
Regards,
Rich
