Photographer's Note
Once a year, around October, this extreme event will take place in all Chinese temples around Phuket Island. The participants will enter trance and pierce their cheeks with the weirdest possible objects. I said I wouldn't post any of these, but seems that despite being an internationally known event, some people haven't heard of it. Definitely a challenging photographic exercise... there are so many photographers, it is not easy to come up with an original shot.

Bonjour Willy
Beautiful color and composition! The participants parading the street are perfectly depicted with making good use of fill flash.
i'm surprised it doesn't have more comments in spite of such an amazing photo.
i like your prominent photos very much.
Have a nice weekend, Hisashi

Hello Willy,
I like this shot of the religious procession from the low & wide angle. I guess you had to move out of the way fast. The body piercing appears quite similar to the Hindu devotees observing Thaipusam here in Malaysia. Regards. Latiff.
