Photographer's Note
The Reclining Buddha or Pha Buddasaiyat faces the Grand Pagoda in Wat Chedi Luang in Chiang Mai.
It is an old Buddha statue of gilded brick and plaster, believed to have been created during the reign of King Phra Muang Kaeo (1487 - 1517), the eleventh monarch of the Mang Rai Dynasty. The head of the reclining Buddha statue is orientated towards the south and faces the ancient Grand Pagoda.
The reclining Buddha measuring almost 9m long and 2m high is housed in an open sided pavilion built under the supervision of the Venerable Phra Buddhisophon the abbot in 1955.
Wanted to use the perspective of the shadow of the railing on the balcony to create this shot

Hi Angshuman,
The length of the corridor is giving depth to the scene. The point of view is showing the details and couleurs of the columns and of the Buddha. The surrounding light is bringing out the colours. Have a nice day.

Bonjour Angshuman
J'aime beaucoup la lumière qui frappe en diagonale ces belles colonnes toutes de noir et d'or. J'aime le jeu des ombres et de la lumière ainsi que la perspective qui donne beaucoup de profondeur à l'ensemble.
Amicalement

Hello Angshu - The usual red and gold decoration in Thai temples is always lovely but I do have a preference for the black and gold. Here it looks so dramatic and sumptuous. A beautiful shot, nicely composed with the Buddha just visible between the decorative pillars. The black frame and orange lettering completes the presentation very well. Warm regards Rosemary

Hello Angshuman,
I like how you used the Buddha for the title but actually kept the reclining figure almost hidden behind the huge pillars. Instead this composition is all about the pillars, their shadows, the well polished orange floor and the deep perspective created through the composition. Then the Buddha just happens to be there, at the side. Very nicely done.
Kind regards,
Gert

Ciao Angshuman
una bella ripresa che sfrutta appieno le linee convergenti che accompagnano lo sguardop verso l'orizzonte, all'esterno del tempio.
Ottimo il punto di ripresa, la composizione e i colori che rappresentano molto bene il particolare ambiente.
Complimenti
Ciao e buona serata

Hello Angshu
Here I like the long shadow reinforcing the diminishing linear perspective and vanishing point. Good sharpness and graphism with excellent shadow detail and density. The repetitive columns and patterns add interest. Tfs!

Hi Angshu
for obvious reasons this photo stands out, we don't get to see the color combinations of orange and black very often.
and i'm glad I read your note, as i may have missed the reclining Buddha! :)
Gotta love the large black pillars and the ornaments on them, and the shadow line is great too, as it takes away a bit of the light/glare from the orange flooring.
sweet shot
see you around

Hi Angshuman
It has been ages since we last were in Chiang Mai, so I see the first time, I guess since more then 20 years, this temple again. What makes the shot work is the bold contrast of the orange-red floor and the almost black pillars. The vibrancy of the colour hues are extraordinary. The dynamic of the pillar row boost DOF, all in all a superb photo job.
Warm rergards

Hi Angshu,
This is a great architectural photo with many interesting details. I like the perspective depth, the light red/black duo and especially the flower motifs on the columns. Your black frame is also quite bold.
Packing up the plans already? :)

Namaste, my friend Angshuman,
sure, you have used cleverly the shadow of the railing and the alignment of the columns in order to achieve a fantastic perspective sense, with a good escape of lines.
I like the nice colors and the details of this beautiful architecture, and the reclining Budha which we can see at right side of your composition.
Light is great also, you have created a superb photo.
Best wishes,
Josep

Namaste Angshu
Simple beauty within the tight frame by making use of the columns smartly to frame and lead smoothly with the glimpse of the main subject well seen. Superb control of highlights and lots of colors to savour, the ceiling, the verticals in particular look so ornated and contrasty against the peacefull ambience. The overall effect is very pleasing to the eye and I love the shadow plays there as if inviting us into the into the shot. Indeed this is a delightful shot in gorgeous colours. My congrats
Kind regards
