Photographer's Note

A longtail boat driver takes a break beneath Saphan Phra-pin Klao (Phra-pin Klao Bridge) which spans the Chao Phraya River in the Banglamphoo District of Bangkok.

This is one of many shots taken while the driver was attempting to come alongside the bridge abutment. The waves and movement of the boat made it very difficult to capture the desired composition. Oddly enough, this was the first of those photos.

Not seen: the gridlock on the bridge above, the hundreds of other boats plying the waters all around, and the air pollution that chokes this city. But this is one of the things I love about Bangkok - despite the noise, crowds, pollution, and chaos, there is always an underlying sense of peace, calm and order.
