The way back from the Đại Nội Citadel into the Hue town centre we came across this not quite flooded bridge just outside the city gate. The floods and high water levels had brought out lots of people to fish with the large nets in this photo and in the 2 WS photos. It was quite a community event with lots of spectators but we didn't see any fish caught.

Interesantan pogled i trenutak, dobar tekst ...
Lepo mesto, stara arhitektura i ribari sa mrezama, dobro pokazano sa lepim bojama, kontrastom, perspektivom i uhvacenim trenutkom.
Dobar rad sa fotografijama u radionici.
Opasne su velike vode i poplave koje prave veliku stetu, ali neki se i zabavljaju.

Zelim vam sve najbolje.

Hi Ian,

The south China ponds were used in summer for rice paddies and in winter as a pond for the ducks. And fish as well. I saw chicken and duck eggs for sale at the entrance. A nice daily life scene from further south in Vietnam, harvesting the fish. Tfs!

Hello Ian,
A very nice combination of human activities and fine but decayed architecture. WS #1 is almost even more fun to watch although with a less attractive architecture. All three photos are great snapshots.

Wonder what kind of fish live and swim in these muddy waters, Ian, but must be providing the local people who gathered on the bridge.

Hi Ian,
great reportage from your trip to Vietnam. Here you have well combined the interesting architecture at the back with a daily life scene in the foreground. The nets the people use are quite sophisticated.
Fish probably know that this is a bad spot for them or maybe these fishermen managed to capture all fishes from the river already...

Hello Ian,

These people seem quite accustomed and well prepared for this type of fishing! It looks unusual and yet must be successful for the evolution of this type of net.
The scene makes a very interesting, social shot, quite unlike anything I have ever seen before.
The children are watching carefully, and in turn, they will be skilful fishermen/women.
