Most visitors to Hue inevitably go on a boat tour up the Perfume River to visit some great riverside temples.
When we were there the floods and high water levels under bridges meant that it was not possible so we had to rent a car and driver for our temple visits.
Meanwhile all the tour boats were lined up along the river in Hue waiting for the flood levels to go down.
The main photo shows crew waiting, waiting, whilst the WS shows the whole row of tour boats.

A colourful ensemble of dragon boats with wonderful warm cold colour contrasts and good sharpness. Not sure if I took one upriver to Hue Palace as part of a tour. Tfs!

Hi Ian,
Those boats look surprisingly big. Traditional style paintings make them look quite attractive. I guess you were there pretty early to show this calm moment. That single boater sort of emphasizes it.

Hello Ian,
These sightseeing boats seem to have multiplied and become much brighter and more "exotic" since 1993. I remember renting a very ordinary house boat with the family still inside. Both photos today are nicely composed with diagonal accents and green on top, brown below. In the WS also a generous area of grey at the very top. Sharpness perfect as usual.

You know, I've seen many long-tail boats in Thailand.
But not like these boats ... many tails :-)
It's not the tails I like , it's the two dragon heads in front of the boats seen in b/g.
I do really like the sailing along the river with this boat. It was quite interesting though.

The designs on the boats are almost identical, but not quite, this would make a nice "find the so many differences between the tow pictures" kind of a puzzle.
