Photographer's Note
Taken on my first trip to Belize back in late 2007, we encountered this punt operating south of Corozal. The most unusual feature is that the punt is operated mechanically by hand – no motors. We also found similar punts on river crossings near Spanish Lookout and Benque Viejo del Carmen. Two operators were on the punt, one would wind it across the river and the other guy would wind it back; a hard way to make a living.

Hello Chris,
A fine view of the punt brought in natural colours and well positioned in its natural working environment, and made even more interesting by your note.

Paul

Hello Chris,
Beautifully shot -- well composed, with stunning lighting, colors and details of the trees and lillies. Altogether an excellent record of the river as well as the punt/ferry, which may these days be valued as smart technology!

Mary
