Photographer's Note
Here's a photo from San Ignacio, Belize. Even though it's a small town, it's the second largest in Belize. It felt vibrant and there was a local, Caribbean vibe to it despite the many tourists. It's still very fresh in mind. San Ignacio is a town that I will recommend anyone going to Central America. And especially when in Belize. If you have to choose, please choose the jungle interior over the overcrowded, overpriced tourist traps at the coast.
Notes from my travel diary:
(...) "After about half an hour, the bus left Chetumal, Mexico, and we hadn't even left the city before we received the immigration papers for the Belizean border. But obviously, the latino music was already on while I chatted with the Swiss tourists sitting behind me. The border passing went fast. The rest of the bus ride to Belize City will be remembered for the many old houses in Victorian style, the flashy Christmas decorations that still covered many of them, and the occasional views to the Atlantic Ocean. Belize also hosts some of the strangest place names I've heard, for instance, Dump, Bermudian Landing, Revenge, More Force and More Tomorrow.
I didn't stay long in Belize City, which is one of the cities in the world with the highest crime rates. I was just going to do a quick walk around the marketplace before finding the bus to San Ignacio close to the Guatemalan border, but after asking a local man about the departure times, I had to give up that thought.
Him: "The bus is leaving in about 10 minutes, but you should stay here. There will be a lot of people."
Me: "It's gonna be full?"
Him: "Full??? You gonna see them come in the windows, the back, the front door! Get ready to fight, man!"
(...) The country is a former British colony, yet they share a lot of the culture with their Spanish speaking neighbors. For instance, all the music was latino pop. The language is creole and resembles the Jamaican accent. (...) The great nature was there as it had been since the Mexican border, and that's probably the main reason I made Guatemala wait. The road was winding through the jungle, seemingly over all the hills, through many small villages, all the way until arrival in San Ignacio, a beautiful haven in the jungle."
It really is.

Hello Fredrik,
Cave tubing sounds interesting if a little claustrophobic. Lovely vibrant atmosphere and well chosen point of view. Fine technical realisation.

Foto muito boa, a nitidez é excelente, assim como o ponto de vista e a luz. Os vários detalhes da foto deixam a composição ainda mais interessante. A foto possui cores muito bonitas também.
