Carnival is synonyms with music, and particularly LOUD music. There is a group called "Los Alibabá" from a popular neighborhood in Santo Domingo. They will show up at the parade with dozens of drums and play a very loud and rhythmic songs while the dancers embrace a non-stop frenzy of rapid movements on the street. Of course, the faces the drummers make go in line with the powerful expression of their music.
