Photographer's Note
Tikal is famous for its towering Mayan pyramids and represents building on a large scale during the classic Mayan period. The earliest building with a date equal 292 AD and the last dated monument comes from 869AD. By 900AD the city of 90,000 people was apparently abandoned and the entire area was only sparsely inhabited by the time the Spanish arrived in the 1600s.
Temple V is situated adjacent to the southern acropolis and is 59 metres tall. Restoration of this temple was no completed until the late 1980s with funding from the Spanish Corporation Agency. The purpose of the temple and its exact date of construction have not yet been determined, though it is thought to be around 750AD.
It is possible to climb to the top of this temple via a very steep wooden staircase on the opposite side of the temple. The view from the top is fantastic as it looks back toward Temples I and II and the southern acropolis, see the (workshop).

Hello Chris,
I regret the distance of France, too large of these incredible monuments, if enigmatic and spectacular. The points of view and framing balance the image. I appreciate this brought closer and very detailed sight. Technical realization of quality. Cheer.
Have a nice day

Hello Chris,
I looked to both pictures, I find your WS perhaps better than these picture, this is personally.
I prefer your WS for the very nice panorama view.
Sharpness and clarity are superb.
Excellent composition, nice of colours and good presentation too. TFS.
Have a nice weekend,
John.

Bonjour Chris
très beau cadrage de cette architecture. La pente de l'escalier est très impressionnante. J'aime bien cette image. Bravo.

Hello Chris,
A great composition of this pyramid, which is quite unlike the ones in Egypt. I like the upwards point of view and the framing from the trees. The cloudy sky suits the mood.
