early morning in one of my favourite spots in the world - hotel Casa del Mundo on the shores of Lago de Atitlán in Guatemala. even though Atitlan is recognized to be the deepest lake in Central America, its bottom has not been completely sounded; estimates of its maximum depth range up to 340 meters.

this year due to the rainfalls and, presumably, clogged natural drains, the level of the water even in the dry season was about 3m higher than usual, which meant that fish had taken over several tourist information centers, local art galleries and shops.

Great to see you posting here again. This is another fine nature shot. I like how the mountain chain in the bg is reduced to a near-silhouette. Reflections ont he lake lead to some great colour tones there. Nice one!

The titles suggests a Monet-like series to follow?

what a lovely, calming and tranquil picture. the colours are wonderfully atmospheric, especially the lovely reflections in the water. the clouds provide interest in the sky, and you have composed this picture well with the inclusion of the canoe in the bottom third.
