Photographer's Note

A boy posing close to his national flag painted on a wall in Cap-Haïtien, also called Le Cap, a city of about 190,000 inhabitants. From the city it is possible to see the Citadelle fortress, Labadie, sugar cane fields and Bois Caiman (vodoo ceremony site). The north coast of Haiti and especially Tortuga island were the most recognized areas for piracy in the Caribbeans in 17th and 18th century. Pirate of Caribbeans saga and the black swan refer to that place. Scanned image

I liked the image, the boy is perfectly positioned and I liked the effect of his shadow. I would like to cut off the upper side concentrating accion in the lower and central part. anyway a beautiful and creative job.

Nice juxtaposing of the boy against the national flag painted on the wall. I like the elongated shape of the shadowed head obliquely angled across the wall. Good warm cold colour contrasts and excellent saturation & sharpness. Tfs!

Hi Miguel,
A fine portrait of the proud young man and the flag. An interesting flag too, a lot of different elements in there between the cannons, instruments, flags and tree. The colors here are very striking and look great, and the strong light has created a very interesting shadow. As always, great shot.
