Photographer's Note
When walking the market of Kingston on the first day of my visit to Jamaica, I felt a little apprehensive. I always want to test the water, feel how people react to a camera. The market area is known to be unsafe, and indeed, I did not see any foreigner at all. I had my camera in my bag, and was sneaking some pictures, when I heard a voice behind me say "So, you're taking pictures, huh?". I felt caught, and was ready to face some criticism, but when I turned around, I saw a big smile in a friendly face. The women asked me to come to her small shop and asked me to take pictures of her and her friends. This is one of the results - the woman is on the left. The one in the background was a spontaneous pose - which for me, makes the picture to what it is.
